Improving cyclist safety and provide school cycle connections.
Dominion Road Parallel Cycle Route
Client: Auckland Transport
- 12km cycleway and cycle lanes
- 16 schools
Project Background
Auckland’s Dominion Road can be a frightening ride for cyclists, so Auckland Transport enlisted our help to create two cycle routes (covering 12km) through a series of connecting streets to the east and west.
Project Overview
The purpose of this project was to improve cyclist safety and provide cycle connections to the 16 local schools, along with speed calming measures.
Dempsey Wood proactively managed the comprehensive stakeholder and pedestrian management that was required due to the works being carried out within close proximity to 16 schools along the route.
